Tony originally joined the fire dept. on November 3rd, 1997, and later went inactive on March 22nd, 1999.
He returned on May 1st, 2000, and has since won the 2005 Firefighter of the Year award and been appointed on February 11th, 2008, as Alternate Safety Officer.
He obtained his Level I firefighter certification on March 8th,2003.
Awarded as the 2005 Firefighter of the Year after being named as a fire dept. chaplain and after receiving his EMT certification, Tony has also served as the alternate safety officer since being appointed to the position on February 11th, 2008.
Throughout the years, Tony has accumulated over 800 fire training hours with the Betsy Layne Fire Dept.
He and his family attend the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church.
Tony earned his Firefighter Level II Certification on Nov 24, 2013.
In the fall of 2014 Tony began leading bible study at our fire dept. He invites all members, family, friends and community to attend.
